Summer event goes ahead in Woodplumpton thanks to marquee funds

A local community group has been given £500 towards the cost of a marquee.

Woodplumpton Community Action applied for funds to have a marquee at the annual Woodplumpton and Catforth summer fete 2014.

The fete was opened by wine swilling stars of Gogglebox, Dom and Stephanie Parker, who shot to fame being filmed watching TV.

Preston Rural county councillor George Wilkins approved the grant.

The marquee cost £650 but the other £150 has been provided by local businesses.
