Preston Pride returns to Flag Market on Saturday

Preston Pride returns to the Flag Market for a celebration of the lesbian, gay and transexual community in the city.

A five hour event takes place in the city centre featuring performances from dance troupes and musical comedy.

Mayor of Preston councillor Nicholas Pomret is due to start proceedings with a welcome speech.

He will be joined by PC Stuart Rutaldge of Lancashire Police and Melanie Close Burges of Disability Equality NOrth West.

Entertainment then comes from guitarists KID4KIDS at 12.30pm followed by the Clad Claries at 1pm.

The Preston Musical Comedy Society take the stage at 1.30pm and then Ashley Collins, of Britain’s Got Talent, performs at 2pm.

2.30pm sees Retrospective performance, followed by WOLF at 3pm and the Red Ribbon Cabaret perform from 3pm.

Eva Fox is on at 4pm before Coco Malone finishes proceedings at 5pm.

Anyone coming down to the Pride event is asked to wear super hero fancy dress.

The official Pride after party takes place in Evoque Preston.
