Lancaster Best bitter by Harts was nominated by Preston MP Mark Hendrick to be on tap in the Strangers’ Bar.
It has been enjoyed by MPs and visitors to the House of Commons as their guest ale for the week beginning Monday 8 September.
Mark said: “I am delighted that a Preston real ale will be on tap at the Strangers’ Bar.
“This is a unique opportunity to show what Lancashire and Preston in particular, can produce whilst raising the profile of local brewers and the range of ales and beers that are on offer in our region.”
Harts ale is served in many Preston pubs including the Old Black Bull, the Dog and Partridge, the Old Vic, the Moorbrook Inn and The Adelphi.
John Smith, managing directorof Harts, said: “We are very honoured that Mark has chosen to nominate one of our ales to be put on tap at the Houses of Parliament.
“We are grateful to him and appreciative of the work he has done to get us some recognition. We are proud of Preston and we are proud that our Preston ale is being sampled by MP’s in London.
“We do get a lot of support from landlords across the country but we would really like it if local landlords from in and around Preston and Lancashire would support us too and have a look at what we have to offer.”
