M6 junction 31 to 32 overnight closure for Friday and Saturday

Tailback on the M6 at Preston

Further overnight closures of the M6 northbound at junction 31 are planned for this weekend.

From 10pm to 6am on Friday the motorway between junction 31 and 32 is to be closed northbound.

On Saturday the motorway will be closed nortbound again from 9pm to 6am.

During the closure a diversion will be in place via the A59, A5085 to A6 north to the M55 junction and then east back onto the M6 at junction 32.

The roadworks are part of a £7 million scheme to try and ease congestion between the M6 and the M55.

They are expected to be completed by November.
