Frozen is due to draw the crowds into the city centre
Family films are to be shown on the Flag Market as part of a festival of fun for parents and kids alike in Preston.
AdvertisementFour movies are to be screened on the main square in October with seating available inside a covered grandstand.
The sounds of Disney’s Frozen will start the day of film screenings, with Lego The Move, The Chronicles of Narnia and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original) version also to be shown.
Preston Business Improvement District (Preston BID), who are organised the event, said the four films would be free to watch.
BID chairman John Boydell said: “By bringing the free outdoor cinema to the Flag Market, the BID hopes to be able to show families what Preston city centre has to offer.
“We are laying on a series of classic family films which will be screened completely free of charge. We are a truly family friendly city, and events like this are our way of saying, come and enjoy Preston; everyone will be made most welcome”.
“Our only hope is that we can fill our covered grandstand with as many families as possible to enjoy the films, but spaces are strictly limited so we would advise people to turn up early.”
The films are to be shown on Saturday 25 October and other entertainment is also set to be laid on across the city centre during the day.
Screening times are 12noon for Frozen, 2pm for Lego The Movie, 4.15pm for The Chronicles of Narnia and 6.45pm for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
