A store specialising in Afro-Caribbean products has applied to be able to sell alcohol.

JB Supplies on Market Street in the city centre stocks food and hair products from the Caribbean.

Now owner Rudy Bapitiste wants to be able to sell alcohol from the region.

An application has been submitted to Preston City Council asking to be able to sell alcohol from 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

It will be stocked alongside the current offering of fresh vegetables, fruit and spices.

Anyone wishing to make comments on the application should email licensing@preston.gov.uk
