Vintage fashion market and workshops at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery

A vintage building for a vintage event

Vintage fashion lovers are invited to the Harris Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday.

Stalls are set to line the museums halls for the Vintage Harris event.

Alongside a number of stalls selling clothing, crafts and furniture there are also drop-in workshops to learn how to do it yourself.

Live musical performances are also on the line up, plus the chance to find out about a history of men’s suits.

The full line up for the workshops are:

12pm to 1pm: Drop in craft sessions, suitable for all ages on how to make rose brooches and hairclips

12pm to 12.40pm: A chance to explore the jewellery collection of the Harris up close

1pm to 2pm: Horrockses Hour, a talk showcasing the garments from Preston’s world-renowed clothing manufacturers

2pm to 3pm: Drop-in craft sessions on how to make brooches and hairclips

3pm to 3.40pm: A talk on men’s fashion from the 1930s to the 1970s

All afternoon there will be music from Leading Notes, while the aptly named Caroline Preston will share a history of glamarous vintage powder compacts.

A glimpse of forthcoming fashion exhibition A Dyer’s Journey through Art and Fashion by Marian Clayden is also on the line up.

Retroqueen – Vintage clothing
Vintage Faith – Vintage Clothing
Wudstock – woodwork crafts – created with reclaimed wood from organs and beams around Lancashire
Rebecca UK – Bespoke tailoring
Yappers and Chappers Designs – Nickel and Lead free Jewellery
Walking on Glass – engraved glassware
Bev Salisbury – furniture
Owl and Heartflower – crafts and gifts, beautiful scarves
Astrakha Vintage – Vintage Clothing
Liz Proctor – Vintage Clothing
Plus get your hair styled in a vintage look by Kerrie Lamb

Admission to the event is free, which runs from 12noon to 4pm on Saturday 30 August.
