Police are appealing for information to trace a missing sex offender who could be in the Preston area.
AdvertisementUpdate: Cross was arrested in Preston on Tuesday
Byrom Cross, 24, is wanted for breach of his notification requirements after failing to tell Lancashire Police about his change of address.
He was living in Darwen but police now believe he could be in the Preston area and has connections in the city.
Cross was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison in July 2010 after he was convicted of sexual activity with a teenage girl who was under 16.
He is on the sex offenders’ register and disqualified from working with children.
Police say he also uses the name Biaron.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire McEnery, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit, said: “We take any breach of notification requirements very seriously and I would urge anyone with information on where he might be to contact us. I would also urge Cross himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 where details can be passed to the DASO (Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’) Unit.
