The Betfred bookies on Blackpool Road was targeted

Police were called to a branch of bookmakers Betfred after an armed raid.

The betting shop in Ashton-on-Ribble was targeted around 9.30am on Sunday.

A man entered the shop at Lane Ends on Blackpool Road with a knife and threatened two members of staff.

Cash was stolen and the man left the shop, and police believe he may have joined another man, and headed onto Kimberley Road.

Police say the man who went into the shop was white, spoke with a Liverpudlian accent and was around 5’10”.

A second man is described as wearing a light coloured hooded top and dark trousers.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or who saw the pair to contact them on 101 quoting log number 0425 of August 23.
