Jasper was praised by officers for sniffing out the cash and drugs

A further five people from Preston have been arrested in connection with drug dealing in the city.

Police raided addresses in Ribbleton, Ashton on Ribble and Deepdale early on Tuesday.

Officers used sniffer dogs, led by Jasper, to uncover £50,000 in cash and a haul of class A drugs.

Three men aged 24,27 and 29 have all been arrested on suspicion of supplying heroin.

A 53-year-old man from Preston has also been arrested on suspicion of supplying heroin.

A 47-year-old woman from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin.

Police have named four people who have been charged following Monday’s raids as part of Operation Nemesis.

Dilbag Singh, 32, of St Paul’s Road, Preston, has been charged with three counts of supplying crack cocaine and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Tyler Stevens, 21, of Fishwick Parade, Preston, has been charged with two counts of supplying crack cocaine, four counts of supplying heroin and possessing cannabis.

Daniel Edmondson, 23, of Villiers Street, Preston, has been charged with supplying heroin and possessing heroin.

Christine Logan, 31, of Villiers Street, Preston, has been charged with four counts of being concerned in the supply of heroin and being concerned in the supply of cocaine

Two others arrested in Monday’s raids have been bailed.

A 63 year old man from Preston who was arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of heroin has been bailed until 20 August.

A 32 year old woman from Preston who was arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin and a 13 year old boy who was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis have both been bailed until 20 October.
