Developer Yvonne Walker has applied for permission to build a 16-bed student accommodation block on 4 Lodge Bank.

Planning officers write in their decision for approval: “No objections have been received. The proposed development would provide additional student accommodation within the area in line with neighbouring developments.

“The proposed development has previously been considered to be acceptable in terms of the principle of the proposal, design and appearance/street scene, impact upon amenity of neighbouring residents and impact upon traffic and highway safety.”

A statement with the application says: “There is now a builder waiting to buy once the planning is granted.

“The site is a prime area for student with all the surrounding amenities.”

Full planning permission was received in 2007 and again in 2011 but the three year time limit for building had lapsed.

The full plans are available to view on the city council website.
