Preston residents are being asked to give their views on what’s been branded an “eyesore” on New Hall Lane.
The planters along the road which crosses Ribbleton, Fishwick and St Matthews have been used for fly tipping and are regularly covered with dog mess.
Now Preston City Council is consulting on what the local community would like to do with them.
A community art project is proposed to clean up the planters and bring a new look to the area.

Rosie Green, community involvement worker at the city council said: “This proposed project would see the transformation of all the planters along New Hall Lane into community art work.
“These would be created by the local community and be about the local area throuh workshops run by a community artist.
“As you can see from the designs a mature tree would be planted in the centre of each planter with a decorative guard.”
An online survey is being run to seek local views on the idea.
