A city centre arts and cafe bar is preparing to expand for its summer festival.
AdvertisementKorova arts and cafe bar on St Wilfrid Street are gearing up for K-Stock festival from Friday 15 August to Sunday 17 August.
And organisers have applied to run an outside bar as part of the entertainments.
Sam Buist, co-founder of Korova arts, said: “We have put in a temporary events notice to run a beer tent outside on Charnley Street.
“We’re also planning a street party on Charnley Street, with an installation art piece, that really will fit in the spirit of a music festival.
“We initially planned to keep the festival inside Korova, however their has been so much interest from artists since we announced the festival, that we’ve had to enquire about using the outside.
“But it’s left us very excited, making us consider taking the festival to places we hadn’t initially considered. It’s taking a lot of planning, but we’ve been in discussion with the council, and hope to finalise everything with the appropriate authorities on Thursday, and hope that they will finalise are plans. It should also fit nicely alongside the markets.”
K-Stock sees a diverse range of acts playing at the cafe during the course of the weekend.
