Preston’s historic flag market hosted a range of attractions with music, food, vintage and modern stalls, children’s rides and an art ‘flash-mob’ to entertain city centre shoppers and visitors.
AdvertisementThe event on Saturday was described as a day of celebration which was also helping to support the Lancashire Mind charity.
The pavement art slowly developed on the flags in front of the Harris Museum and the artists looked to the skies hoping that the rain would hold off, at least until they’d completed their masterpieces.
The pre-event publicity described this as Preston’s first ‘art flash-mob’ which may have been using a bit of poetic license as things seemed to be progressing at a fairly leisurely pace. More ‘art chilled mob’ than flash.
A small stage was the focal point for music which featured a number of local musicians throughout the day.
