Koi carp worth up to £1,600 have been stolen from a pond at a Fulwood home.
AdvertisementThe eight fish, which measure more than 16 inches, were taken between 11pm on Tuesday 12 August and 5am on Wednesday 13 August.
A tital water pump and airtech water pump were also stolen.
Their owner, Vin, said the carp are worth between £150 to £200 each.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it at first. Whoever did this must have come prepared – probably with a van, buckets and a net – because they aren’t easy to move. I think they’ve been pinched for somebody else’s pond rather than to pass on to a dealer.”
“I’ve had most of the fish for around five years, although I got one as a birthday present this year. I’m particularly concerned that whoever has them may not know how to look after them properly.
“If anyone knows someone who’s acquired some new koi carp apparently out of the blue, saw something suspicious around the time they were taken, or has any other information that might be relevant, then I’d appreciate them coming forward.”
Vin has released a video to try and help in finding his beloved fish.
