Police are hunting a couple who they say carried out a “disgraceful” assault on two teenagers outside a Preston pub.
A 19-year-old man was left unconscious and an 18 year old female had a glass smashed into her face.
A man and woman in their mid to late 20s were seen leaving the Continental on South Meadow Lane, Broadgate, around 11.30pm on Saturday 26 July, police have now made two arrests.
As they left the pub they started arguing and as the situation between them deteriorated Lancashire Police say two teenagers sitting nearby intervened to try and diffuse the situation.
Detective Inspector Paddy O’Neill from Preston CID, said: “We believe that the two suspects were attending a wedding party at the Continental that day, and we are appealing for witnesses to the assault or anyone who can help us identify and locate the pair. We would also be particularly interested to hear from those who may have taken photographs at the function.
“We believe these two suspects are a couple and may have been together for some time. The level of violence used on these two teenagers during this unprovoked attack was disgraceful and is completely unacceptable. The young girl is still in hospital and is under-going plastic surgery.”
The female suspect is described as a white with a Lancashire accent, slim build, with long dark possibly red hair, mid to late 20s, wearing a dress with distinctive black and white panels.
The male suspect is described as being white in his mid to late 20s, muscular build with very short or cropped light hair, wearing jeans with a short sleeved top.
