The national strike taking place today, organised by Local Government Unions, will close several schools in the Preston area.
The teachers union, the National Union of Teachers are taking part in the strike on Thursday 10 July 2014.
The strike will also affect many council services in Preston.
Lancashire County Council has released this notification of schools currently affected that will be closed or partially closed today and may not be a definitive list.

Frenchwood Community Primary School (AM: N-Y6 – whole school closure – PM: N-Y6 – whole school closure)
Moorbrook School
Ribbleton Avenue Infant School
Sir Tom Finney Community High School
St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School. Fulwood. Preston (The school will be closed to pupils in reception only. The remainder of pupils will attend school as scheduled)
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Preston (The school is closed the the nursery children for the morning session nursery class is morning only and to reception pupils all day. The remainder of pupils will attend school as scheduled)
St Maria Goretti Catholic Primary School. Preston (AM: Nusery -Yr6 – whole school closure – PM: Nusery -Yr6 – whole school closure)

Parents/carers are advised to check with their own respective schools to find out if the industrial action is likely to have an impact upon them.
