Police have confirmed a wanted man was arrested in Lea on Sunday morning.

A Preston police officer said the man was wanted on recall to prison and in relation to an incident of criminal damage which took place on Saturday.

Up to eight police cars and a dog unit were used in the search which also drew on the police helicopter unit at Warton.

Officers eventually found the man hiding in a cul de sac off Lea Road, Lea.

The man was arrested, and police said he had run away from officers on two occasions over the last two days.

He has been charged with criminal damage and is due to appear in court on Monday.

A second police operation also took place on Sunday afternoon with officers and the helicopter searching for a second wanted man in the Savick and Lea areas. The second man was found near Savick Brook and arrested.
