Paul Melling snapped the work ongoing at the mosque

A new mosque in Fulwood appears to be nearing completion.

The Masjid e Salaam on Watling Street Road has faced many planning battles to win approval and be built.

A mosque has operated on the site since 1996 and work started on the new mosque in 2012.

Trustees said the previous building, which was a former bar and dance hall of a hotel, was unsuitable. It was becoming cramped due to the popularity of the mosque.
