Formerly The Savings Bank on Church Street, will become a new pub
The new Wetherspoons in Preston city centre could serve alcohol until 2am.
An application lodged from the pub giant reveals the Twelve Tellers on Church Street would serve alcohol from 8am to 2am throughout the week and at weekends.
In December last year the pub company was given permission to convert the former TSB Bank into a large drinking establishment.
At the time they said the opening hours would be until 12.30am on Sunday to Wednesday and 7am to 1.30am Thursday to Saturday. It now appears the city centre pub would open for longer.
Wetherspoons spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “Our pubs in and around Preston have proven very successful and we are keen to open this new pub.
“At present we are progressing with the licence and will await a date when the licensing application can be heard.”
The Grade II listed building is in the process of being restored and kitted out for operating as a pub.
The licence also states the Spoons would play recorded music and allow dancing until 2am.
You can view the licensing application on the city council website.
