Major roadworks around the Deepdale Retail Park take place throughout the school summer holidays and beyond.

Paid for by the owners of the retail park it will see changes to the way you access the site off Blackpool Road.

Traffic around the retail park is often at a standstill and as part of the conditions for new retail units behind built on the land a £500,000 investment in the road layout was negotiated.

Starting from Monday 28 July there will be roadworks at the entrance to the retail park.

Work takes place to widen the left-turn lane from Blackpool Road into the retail park to allow for a cycle lane and make it easier to turn in.

A new bus stop and layby will also be added.

Traffic signals are being upgraded throughout the junction and additional crossings are being added to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

The work is expected to take 12 weeks to complete.

New entrances to the retail park are being created on Holme Slack Lane ad Clifton Grove, and more parking bays are being added on Clifton Grove. These will take place in the next 17 weeks.

A second phase of roadworks happens after the 12-week first stage is complete.

It will see the signals at St Gregory Road changed to improve traffic flo and pedestrian crossings at the traffic lights are being improved.

This set of work is expected to take five weeks to complete.
