Avenham and Miller Parks were awash with pirates, lost boys and a fairy last weekend as the Preston Youth Theatre performed the premiere of their latest production of Peter Pan.
Although the weather on Saturday was rather inclement, the young performers did not let that affect the performance in anyway whatsoever and like true professionals they carried on regardless.
Throughout the performance the audience was led from one act to another to various parts of the two parks, where interesting use of the unique natural settings had been utilised to accommodate each well scripted scene.
It became quite obvious during this performance that the Preston Youth Theatre have moved up to a new level in their development as acting performers and it is entirely reasonable to think that they can only rise to even greater heights in their professional status.
A slideshow by Gillian Lawson of the first performance on Saturday can be viewed below.
If you love theatre and want to see some of the local acting stars of tomorrow then I recommend that you follow this amateur company of young actors. You can find out more of this organisation at this website.
