Police in Preston are cutting back their social media accounts into one feed for Prestonians to follow.

Currently Lea Police and Fulwood Police have their own accounts on Twitter and Facebook.

PCSO Stephen Connolly said there would now be just one Twitter and Facebook account covering the whole Preston area.

He said it is hoped there will be more updates on crimes and incidents happening via the one Preston account, making it easier for residents to see everything happening in the city.

The accounts are @prestonpolice on Twitter and Preston Area Police on Facebook.

The Lancashire Police accounts @lancspolice and Lancashire Police on Facebook remain as they are.
