Ashton roadworks: Roads closed for resurfacing

Lancashire County Council have announced plans to close roads in the Ashton-on-Ribble area of the city.

The council says temporary prohibition is necessary to enable resurfacing works to be carried out.

The closures will be in action from 9am Monday 28 July 2014, up to 4pm on Friday 8 August 2014 with no motor vehicles allowed over the roads.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closures have been suggested below.

The roads affected as as follows:

Douglas Street will be closed from its junction with A583 Watery Lane, to its junction Calder Street. Diversions will be the A583 Watery Lane – A583 Water Lane – A5072 Tulketh Road.

Newton Road will be closed from its junction with Beech Grove, to outside house number 10. Diversions through Beech Grove – A5072 Tulketh Road – A5085 Blackpool Road – Newton Road and vice versa

Beech Grove will be closed at its junction with Newton Road with diversions along Beech Grove – A5072 Tulketh Road – Garden Walk – Waterloo Road – Beech Grove and vice versa.

Victoria Parade will be closed From its junction with A5072 Tulketh Road, to outside house number 16 and diversions will be A5072 Tulketh Road – Garden Walk – Waterloo Road – Victoria Parade and vice versa.

Tulketh Avenue will be closed from its junction with Victoria Parade, to outside house number 20 with diversions along Tulketh Avenue – Garden Walk – Waterloo Road – Beech Grove – Tulketh Avenue.
