A Preston arts organisation has been recognised as one of the best in the North of England.
AdvertisementIn Certain Places, who organised the Harris Flights last summer, are included in this year’s Hannah Directory.
The Directory highlights the top artists and organisations doing great things in the North of England.
The Harris Flights bought weeks of different performances to the temporary staircase at the front of the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, enjoyed by tens of thousands of Prestonians.
Andrew Wilson, who organises the directory, said: “Cities like Preston have a unique character and sense of place, the Guild being a great example, and we have to work hard to maintain that as a resource.
“I’m delighted that In Certain Places are involved because of the questions they ask about how places keep their sense of difference.”
In Certain Places is run by Professor Charles Quick and Elaine Speight from the School of Art, Design and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire.
To mark their inclusion in the Hannah Directory the In Certain Places team are hosting their latest project CLOCKING OUT during a lunch hour event (12.30pm-1.30pm) at 38 St Peters Street on the UCLan campus during Wednesday 4 June.
CLOCKING OUT is an online zine about disrupting your daily work routine.
