Police cordon off Broadgate area road during incident

Police closed off part of a road in the Broadgate area of Preston on Sunday evening.

Around 6pm up to six police cars, including an armed response unit, and an ambulance, were around Beech Terrace and near St Stephen’s School on South Meadow Lane.

Local residents reported seeing the road closed while an incident was dealt with.

Lancashire Police released a statement on Monday 30 June to say the incident was a hoax call, and they are now investigating who made the call.
