Penwortham Gala takes place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June.
We have already seen some great photos from the procession today. More of these to come.
Once the procession finished people packed the park to enjoy the activities in the early summer sunshine.
The Gala itself centered in Hurst Grange Park in Penwortham and had a great carnival atmosphere. Kids enjoyed a fun fair, dozens of stalls of all kinds spread across the park and musical and dance entertainment at the central stage lasted well into the evening.
The annual Penwortham gala attracts around 10,000 visitors each day.
Business in central Penwortham also took part with Strictly Cupcakes featuring a live DJ, Spar providing a penalty shoot-out for the kiddies and the Fleece pub putting on a Mini Disco, raffle, BBQ (and open until 1am because of something important!)
