Work to transform another former Preston public house is progressing on Moor Lane.

The old Queen Vic pub is currently being converted into student accommodation and a fast food outlet. Situated in the heart of the University student campus, the once popular bar has stood vacant for a number of years.

Now new owner Ibrahim Sanibal applied for permission to convert the pub into a takeaway and put flats above it.

Plans submitted to the council said the proposed takeaway is intended to serve the local student community and in particular several recently established student accommodation residences within the nearby vicinity with minimal impact upon the local community and residential amenity.

Old signs and features from the Queen Vic were ignominiously dumped in a dirty skip outside the building.
