It was a glorious day. The Sun was out and there was samba in the air.
The 40th Caribbean Carnival in Preston transformed the city streets into a sea of music, dance and outrageously colourful costumes.
Large crowds lined the route as the procession slowly wound its way from Moor Park, into the city centre, and back out again.
Everyone we talked to said this year the carnival was a huge success. The sunny weather a welcome bonus.
We posted some excellent readers photos earlier today. This is Blog Preston’s view of the Carnival, courtesy of Tony Worrall on Flickr. If you’re on our app click here to view the pictures.
