A crew from Bamber Bridge used portable pumps at 4.47pm to clear the water.

Red Rose Radio on St Paul’s Square also called out the fire service saying the lighting circuit was affected – a fire crew from Penwortham arrived and turned off the electrics.

The emergency services had a number of calls regarding flood water in a four hour period, but did not attend many incidents – advising residents over the phone instead.
