A new dental surgery could be opening within a Preston supermarket.
AdvertisementThe Centre for Dentistry have agreed to lease a 1,200 square foot section of the Sainsbury’s Deepdale store.
Two dentists and one hygienist will work out of the surgery which aims to have flexible opening hours to be suitable for family use.
The surgery would be open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays, and Saturday 10am to 6pm and from 11am to 3pm on Sundays.
Costs for treatment are competitive with other private surgeries according to the Centre, with an initial check-up costing £35 including X-rays.
Documents submitted to the city council’s planning department state: “The Centre for Dentistry’s concept is to make access to dental care more affordable, accessible and convenient for the general public.
“The concept is to provide small dental practices within or alongside existing Sainsbury’s foodstores which will be open for most of the hours the store is trading.”
16 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK already have dental surgeries within them.
The surgery would be located in the front right hand corner of the Deepdale store.
