Firefighters fought to dampen down a huge blaze, with smoke billowing across the city from around 4.18pm.

Ironically, the fire started at the old Gillibrand Fireplaces warehouse. Gillibrand Fireplaces also have a smart shop at 62 Liverpool Road in Penwortham.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue said it is not the first time they have been called out to a fire at the property.
