I do love a good Afternoon Tea and so when I found out about Happy Bunnies in Longton, I had to visit. I booked through the Facebook page and three of us went along.
Happy Bunnies is a Deli and Cafe selling drinks, sandwiches, cakes and pastries, ice cream and local produce. A Breakfast Menu is served until 11.30am and there are daily special boards. The decor is lovely and we enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere.
The Afternoon Tea is served with a drink of your choice. Tea it was! When it arrived, it looked beautiful! Everything on the board was explained to us with homemade savouries and sweets as well as local produce.
The Savoury selection was amazing and included a miniature cup of Pea and Leek Soup complete with cream swirl, a small club sandwich, a fish chip and mushy pea canope, a glass espresso cup of greek salad, a locally produced award winning whist pie, a little bucket of spiced wedges and a hidden little mini quiche! A wonderful tasty variety of savouries, excellently presented.
Upto the top layer of the Afternoon Tea and the sweets selection is just as varied and delicious. Half a scone with clotted cream and locally produced blackcurrant Jam, a mini chocolate eclair, a (cute) mini milk bottle of Chocolate Milkshake (Yum!), a small slice of zingy lemon cake and a lovely decorated carrot cupcake. Upon serving, it was recommended that we worked our way through the desserts in a certain way incase we couldn’t finish and would need a doggy bag! We followed the advice and took the cupcake home to eat later. The sweet layer was as delicious as the savouries.
As we were leaving, we were asked if we wanted a free Coffee Renoir as it was spare and they were closing. Bonus!
At £11.95 per person (children £6.95) the Afternoon Tea is cheaper than others I have tried and with a generous variety of extremely tasty food, I will definately be visiting again and again.
