The Ram’s Head in Longton, is a pub environment with great sport facilities (five screens, one a giant cinema screen), with a separate dining room for food and functions.
If you are looking for some great pub grub, or somewhere for a celebratory meal, the Ram’s Head in Longton provides a fantastic varied food menu in a relaxed setting at great prices. On a Sunday, the all you can eat Carvery is £7.95 (£3.95 kids) served from 12.30-6.30pm.
I have eaten at the Rams’s Head on numerous occasions but this time I was pleased to find a new exciting menu when I arrived.
The menu now includes a huge selection of Burgers & Butties including wraps, melts, subs, paninis, focaccias, cold sandwiches, ciabattas and bruscettas. If that wasn’t enough, you can also build your own burger.
When I return, I must try the Goober Burger, an intriguing burger with Peanut Butter. The menu also includes traditional favourites, curries, steaks, fish, lighter bites and more. The dessert selection changes but includes a variety of different flavoured cheesecakes such as Dime Bar or Oreo and American Pancakes. There is plenty of choice, and whatever you fancy, it will be on the menu.
I went for the Garlic Mushrooms with Garlic Bread to start. The mushrooms, swimming in a delicious garlic sauce were served with garlic bread in a small casserole dish. The dish was £5.95 with other starters priced from £3.95 and there is also a selection of sharing boards. There is something for every taste and budget.
For main, I picked from the “Exotic Salmagundi” Selection of the Menu and chose Chicken Jalfrezi. The Curry was served with half chips, half rice, a Naan bread and Raita and Mango dips. Many of the dishes at the Ram’s Head are served on food boards with a mini fryer or a cone basket of chips. Great presentation throughout all courses. The portions are generous and at a very reasonable price of £8.95, this dish was very tasty. Again, the menu incorporates a huge range of dishes at a varied price range but there is something for every taste and budget.
My sweet tooth usually doesn’t let me leave a restaurant without a dessert. Although I should probably have passed, I couldn’t help but go for Charlie’s Chocolate Fudge Cake with Ice Cream. Mmmmmmm! You cant go wrong with Chocolate Cake but it was delicious! There is a varied interesting selection of cheesecakes, cakes, and pancakes which changes regularly.
The service I have experienced has always been great and the place is usually busy so I recommend checking availability before you go. After writing this, I think I will see if there are any free tables this evening.
