A new beauty salon could be opening in Fulwood.
AdvertisementCharisma Salon would take up residence in a house on Black Bull Lane.
Charlene Welsby has applied to convert the property into the salon, and it would employ two members of staff.
The salon is currently located in leased premises on Plungington Road and has been trading for seven years.
Miss Welsby says in an economic statement the property used to be a newsagents, but was turned into residential property. It had been on the market for £150,000.
She said: “The property has been unable to sell on the current housing market as a residential dwelling.
“As it has previously traded as a tobacconist and newsagents with an A1 certificate and its original layout has not been altered we would like to reapply for the A1 classification to trade as a beauty salon.
“The current owner has allowed the property to fall into disrepair.
“We intend renovating the property to a high standard to encourage custom and convey an exceptionally presented and professional appearance.”
The salon’s proposed opening hours would be 10.30am to 8pm on weekdays and 10.30am to 5.30pm on a Saturday.
The full plans for the salon are on the council website.
