Shoppers at one of Preston’s shopping centres will have the chance to tinkle the ivories on Saturday.
AdvertisementThe St George’s Shopping Centre have inherited a piano and are calling in a renowned jazz and blues pianist to teach Prestonians a thing or two.
Justin Randall has performed in the famous Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London, and toured the UK and European rhythm and blues scene for over 20 years.
St George’s marketing manager, Alanna Dent, said: “We inherited a piano and thought the shopping centre would be the ideal place to allow Preston’s pianists to test themselves.
“We’d like to invite people of all ages to come and have a go, whether they’d like to make a regular appearance and draw a crowd or just have a tinkle as they pass through the shopping centre. You never know, we might unearth some musical stars of the future!
“The piano is another great addition to the shopping centre and follows the installation of new seating and the recent renovation and relocation of our customer service desk.”
Now managers at the centre are going to make the piano a permanent fixture from this Saturday.
Anyone will be able to play the piano which will be at the top of the escalators at the Friargate entrance.
Justin performs from 1pm on Saturday 10 May.
