These pictures show life inside the Courtauld’s factory before it was demolished in 1980.
AdvertisementLocal photographer and former factory worker Keith Sergeant rescued the pictures from a skip just before the factory was torn down.
The Ribbleton site is now the Red Scar Business Park but before this the factory was home to thousands of workers.
They made colourful silks and fabrics which were exported around the world.
Now a community project is aiming to trace people who worked or knew people who worked in the factory to piece together their memories.
