Mayoress Veronica Afrin cut the ribbon to let the first exercisers in to take part in taster classes.
For £1 there were lots of short sessions available showcasing the range of classes available during the open day.
The second exercise studio means the leisure centre can hold more than 100 classes a week.
UCLan’s cheerleading squad were also on hand to join the celebrations and entertain those exercising.
Jimmy Khan, head of sport and leisure at Preston City Council, commented: “The addition of a second exercise class studio is great news for centre.
“This means we will now deliver the largest exercise class timetable in Preston.”
