Collapsed sewer closes city centre street

Essential road works close city centre street

For the next week, until 7 May, Christ Church Street will be closed to traffic.

United Utilities have taken out repair work at the top of the street to dig down in the carriageway and repair a collapsed sewer.

They hope this will prevent further flooding in the area.

The work is now underway and the road is closed to vehicles.
