Ben celebrates with his wife Louise and family after finishing
A Preston man continued his six marathons in six months challenge completing the Windermere Marathon.
Ben Ashworth, who has been diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer, continued his mammoth fundraising task.
Ashworth, a father of three from Broadgate, completed the run in the stunning Lake District scenery in six hours and 30 minutes.
He said it was tough going as the sweltering heat made conditions tough.
On the start line
On the route he met Tim and Darren, two Lancashire runners also raising money for Rosemere Cancer Centre – one of Ben’s chosen charities.
He said: “If it hadn’t been for meeting Tim and Darren I truly wouldn’t have made it round the course.
“I’m just so glad to got to the finish line and so grateful to have met such amazing people.”
