The classic chant of “PNE, PNE, PNE” echoed around the New Orleans Arena on Monday night.

The Preston North End FC  chant has been heard at stadiums all around the UK, but this is likely its first airing in USA.

Wade Barrett, the Prestonian WWE star, was making his first in-ring appearance in months and acknowledged the chants with a huge smile.

The ‘PNE’ chants can be heard at approximately 1:20.

The post-Wrestlemania (which happened on Sunday night) edition of the wrestling programme ‘Raw’ draws a strong international crowd due to its place on the calendar next to the popular event. Thousands of UK fans make the trip for the weekend and it appears there were more than a few Preston fans in attendance this year.

Originally billed as from Manchester, the lifelong Preston fan argued for his billing to be changed to Preston once he got his foot in the door.

Barrett has made several visits to PNEFC over the years, including taking part in a training session with the squad. He regularly interacts with the squad and Preston fans through his Twitter account.
