Something a little different taking place in early May, just 7 miles north of the city near Churchtown, the Preston Boat Jumble 2014.
Lots of stalls, selling new and used boating, fishing and watersports equipment.
The promoters of the event have been involved with the marine industry for over 30 years and recognise the hard times businesses are facing at present, particularly in the leisure sector.
They say exhibiting at major boat shows has become too expensive for most companies. Some household names in the industry have chosen not to attend the London Boat show this year.
As the credit crunch bites attendances have also been lower at these shows.
A cost effective solution for companies to get some quick sales on clearance items is the Boat Jumble.
Chaddock & Fox Promotions say Boat Jumbles offer the opportunity to liquidate large volumes of unwanted stock for cash which could otherwise be sitting in warehouses or stock rooms waiting for the economy to improve.
They’re not just for the private sellers of second hand goods. Around 60% of our traders are businesses attending to sell new items at discount prices.
Sounds like a great idea and day out for boat fans.
