The colour and sounds of Preston’s Carnival are important for the city according to a council report

The 40th Preston Carnival announces it’s latest sponsor.

Community Gateway Association (CGA), a social housing provider in Preston, has found money from its community sponsorship fund to support this year’s as the Caribbean Carnival.

This year is the Ruby Anniversary of the Carnival.

Robin Ridgley, CGA Communications Manager said: “CGA is delighted to be sponsoring the Carnival once again, especially in its significant anniversary year. We’re looking forward to being a part of a great event.”

Michael Dawkins, Chair of Preston Caribbean Carnival said: “We are reliant on the support of our local communities to make Preston Caribbean Carnival a success every year and are very pleased to accept the generous support of these two local companies in what we hope will be a long-term partnership.”

Celebrating its ruby anniversary the annual Carnival will bring sounds and colours to the streets of Preston. The theme for this year’s parade is rugby.

Preston Caribbean Carnival will be held on 29 Jun 2014 at 12:30.

There is also a Carnival fundraising event ‘Red Fete’ on 19 April held at Jalgos Sports & Social Club on Rose Street in Preston.
