A Preston teenager who made the lives of Broadgate residents a misery has been banned from the area.
AdvertisementAaron Knowles, 14, of Broadgate appeared at Preston Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was given a two year ASBO.
Knowles was part of a group of teenagers, children and young men who terrorised Broadgate and the surrounding streets.
The ASBO stops Knowles loitering in the Broadgate area and the southern end of Fishergate Hill.
He is also banned from being in the company of a number of other boys and young men in the Broadgate and Fishergate area.
Knowles was part of a group who assaulted residents, threw stones, caused criminal damage, loitered outside local shops and businesses and were abusive towards people in the local area.
Broadgate community beat manager PC Carl Ingram said: “Aaron Knowles has been making life a misery for a large proportion of the Broadgate neighbourhood.
“Residents were practically queuing up to make complaints as I patrolled the area. People were saying that the noise and the abuse was making them ill to the point where they were wanting to move away from the area.
“We are committed to making sure Preston is not blighted by this type of behaviour and we will continue to use tactics such as ASBOs to improve the quality of life for local residents.”
Knowles is also to have his face splashed across leaflets and posters which will be distributed to local businesses and homes.
