Photographers across the city are being asked to snap Preston in a new light.
AdvertisementA competition to have your images used to promote the city and also at an exhibition at the St George’s Shopping Centre is now launched.
Blog Preston is backing the Snap That Preston initiative which sees pictures uploaded to the Preston Flickr group.
The competition runs across a number of different categories:
– People
– Events
– Shopping
– Commerce & Business
– Leisure
– Preston In Bloom
– Preston In The Sun
The competition is run by Preston’s Business Improvement District (BID) which promotes Preston city centre.
To enter you need to take pictures (obviously!) on any of the themes.
The winner of the photo competition receives £400 worth of vouchers to spend on competition sponsors Wilkinson Cameras.
The best image in each category will be displayed in the shopping centre.
Mark Whittle from Preston BID said: “We’re looking for your best snaps in the categories to be used to promote our great city.
“Not only will your work be featured regionally, it will also be displayed in St George’s Shopping Centre for all to see.
“Entry is open to all but please ensure you have permission to photograph your subject and that permission is sought from any venue you may wish to photograph.”
The entry deadline is Saturday 26 April and then a panel of judges will pick the winner.
Pictures should be uploaded to the Preston Flickr group and named Snap That Preston and labelled with the category entered into. Full terms and conditions available to view on the Bid Preston site.
