Police arrest suspect in Cottam schoolgirl assualt

Lancashire Police want to update the public about recent events in Cottam, where a young girl was approached by a male.

A man assaulted a 13-year-old girl who he approached from behind and pushed to the ground as she walked home in Cottam.

The schoolgirl was walking along a path through parkland and recreational ground between Tom Benson Way and Cottam Green back in February.

Police arrested a suspect in connection with the incident and the person has now been charged with 3 offences.

The suspect appeared at court this morning. Lancashire Police are not able to release any further details at this time.
