Hunt for gang of three men launched after attempted house raid in Riversway

Police are hunting a gang of men who attempted to force their way into a Riversway house.


Three man confronted the owner of a house on Salisbury Road on Sunday 9 March around 10pm, one of whom was armed with an iron bar.

The man had heard a knock at his front door, when he answered it he was confronted by one of the three men. The two other man then appeared.

The gang attempted to push past him but he fought back and was punched in the head. The owner managed to recover and close the door.

The three men, described as being Asian and wearing dark clothing, ran off to a waiting dark coloured vehicle before driving off towards Fishergate Hill.

DC Gary Latham said: “Fortunately this man only suffered minor injuries, however this was a terrifying incident and we need to find the people responsible.

“If anybody has any information about this incident please call police.”
