Eunice Treacher (seen middle in the photo above) was a well loved figure and according to some had ‘no equal’ when it came to supporting animal welfare.
She dedicated over 30 years to the Preston RSPCA and had a life-long love of animals. People close to her remember with affection her apprehension of modern social media.
RSPCA Manager Julie Eastwood said on her FB page: “She went into a spin at the mere mention of social media, namely Facebook and Twitter! And when I mentioned “online banking” recently I only wish I could have photographed her face.”
One of Eunice’s last public appearances was to cut the tape at the rebirth of the new veterinary clinic on Lancaster Road in Preston. She helped with the negotioations with Myerscough Veterinary Group to get radical and much needed changes to the clinic off the ground, even when she was poorly.
