A public meeting is to be held on Saturday to plan the 40th Preston Carnival.

The Caribbean Carnival takes place on Sunday 25 May.

It is celebrating its ruby anniversary of bringing sounds and colours to the streets of Preston.

And fittingly the theme for this year’s parade is rugby.

The meeting for those interested in taking part is at Jalgos Sports and Social Club on Saturday between 3pm and 4pm.

Anyone interested in taking part but who can’t make the meeting can still get involved by calling one of Sarah Ravenscroft 07957 710604, Leroy Allen 07516 053141 or Elaine Webb 07957673618.
