Updated: Police have announced George has been found and well

Police in Preston are appealing for help to try and find a missing 45-year-old man.

George Mayo was reported missing from an address on Whittingham Lane on Tuesday morning around 11.30am.

He is described as being stocky build with receding black hair and a moustache. He has brown eyes and a Scottish accent

When he was last seen, he was wearing a long sleeved, beige jumper, blue denim jeans, a dark coloured flat cap and a dark coloured scarf. He also had on a dark brown leather jacket, black boots and a gold watch.

Inspector Wendy Fitzgerald said, “Mr Mayo requires regular medication which we don’t believe he has access to and so concerns are growing for him the longer he is missing.

“Although he could still be in the Preston area, there is the possibility that he may have travelled out of the area as well so we would urge people all over the country to be vigilant and to report any sightings to police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should call police on the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
